Black is back
To be fair it never really went away, I wear black all year round. It’s not a slimming thing either, although with the right shapes that does kind of help, I just happen to like black and other fairly neutral colours.
I love the lines of this outfit, anything long and skimming is flattering, usually I’m a narrow leg, thick tights in the winter, long or cropped leggings in the spring and autumn but am grooving these palazzo pants. I have a pair somewhere in the wardrobe will have to dig them out.
Lovely too are the jazzed up pumps with the patent bow, would see you from day to night seamlessly. Take your outfit to the next level with large statement jewellery, it doesn’t have to be expensive. Silver plate, as long as its not overworn so it wears down to the base metal, looks the part. Although I would avoid for pierced ears they soon cause an allergic reaction. If its an inexpensive piece that you really love buy two and wear alternately.
From one extreme to the other, this bag, oh my. Between shoes and bags am a sucker and have cupboards full. I have been known to splurge. Plenty of similar styles to fit your budget just look for shape and colour.
Final little note here, I am not getting any younger, not that I’m complaining am quite proud of my years, my battle scars, my laughter lines, shows a life lived. What I do struggle with is makeup. On the one hand it is so much easier these days as I wear less and less, don’t seem to need to cover up as my natural skin tone is darker as I have got older. Let’s be generous, the laughter line and creases around my eyes I have learnt to master with lighter touches and shades. It’s the droopy eyelids that make my life difficult. I would really like to be able to do a smokey eye for winter parties but think I may end up looking like an extra from a gothic movie. Then I found this handy little guide to dealing with droopy eyes. If like me your years are beginning to make things less easy to apply have a read I picked up some really good tips.
Now to find something to help with the lip lines, I just can’t wear red anymore it bleeds too much and if you think I look like a goth with smokey eyes, imagine how vampiric I would look with red bleed lines round my mouth. Mind you it is Halloween!
