Happy Birthday to me!
One of my lovely friends treated me to a voucher for a wonderful store in Girona called Calma House for my birthday. It is such a new shop that they didn’t actually have any vouchers but instead I was given a little Calma House hessian bag tied with brightly coloured mini bunting with a receipt for a lot of cushions inside.
It’s a quirky little shop which I now know sells soft furnishings, cushions and throws but oh wow! Cushion heaven! Not only was I in cushion heaven but there was a sale on so I got twice as much for my voucher!
With my overall house colours in my head I picked the colours for the upstairs lounge based on a couple of ceramic pots my eldest son Ben made for me a few years ago, I just love the graphic lines, the textures and the mix of blues, greys and creams. Very much my palette.
My first pick was this oblong embroidered velvet pillow, it looks fabulous on this vintage bent back chair alongside my renovated vintage cupboard.
I was looking for something to cosy up the new sofa we bought just before Christmas and I chose these two huge throws, one is a soft knitted cream and the other a huge grey and cream twill. The sofa was another excellent bargain, an ex-display three seater sofa bed which we got a massive 70% off. Only downside it’s cream, already carrying a few marks on the corners I needed some luscious throws to keep it clean.
I chose this dusky blue velvet with cream detailing cushion and a black linen oblong pillow, the cats have already baggsied their own personal favourites!
Feeling generous I let Darren choose one and he went for the black geometric oblong pillow and we both agreed on the stone washed cable knit. Well he was having to cart them all home!
Another little job done today was to put up some washing lines, I love the smell of washing when it’s dried outside and nothing is more pleasing than rows of bed linen pegged neatly in the sun it appeals to my orderly nature.
