Gin, gin and more gin

gin2My sister just shared that she’s bought Gingerbread Gin which got me thinking about gin soaked recipes. In the distant past, when I was just a girl our mother had a fondness for Roses lime marmalade. We had the ordinary, common or garden marmalade, usually Robinsons thin cut with the golly on. We were not allowed to touch the Lime Marmalade for fear our fingers would drop off. She also had a penchant for Olde English Thick Cut but we weren’t keen on that too bitter, love it now though mind.

So I digress. It is well nigh impossible to find such delectable delights here without paying over the odds for imports so I dug out this rather splendid recipe from feedingboys.com  if you fancy a bit of gin for breakfast.

gin3My next gin find are these Gin and Tonic Truffles, the recipe from Taming Twins, a good one for the chocoholic or a gift for a gin lover.

ginFinally, my gin piece de resistance I just found out that Lidl and Asda are selling Gingerbread Gin which I thought was rather festive. In fact the Asda one has glitter in it, even more festive! This got me thinking about infusions and the lack hereof of that sort of thing so how could I make my own? I have found a ginger infusion but that didn’t sound quite the same then I found this Winter Infused Gin recipe on the Craft Gin Club website and it sounded and looked rather tempting.

The funny thing is am not a huge gin fan, am actually more of a whisky gal, these days am not much of a drinker at all but am sure I’ll be able to manage a festive tipple.

If you have a bash of any of these do let me know.
