Summer is here!
After a rather wet start to the season am at last able to spend some quality time at the chalet. Naturally there are always jobs to do, it’s like a never ending huge craft project but I try not to fixate too much on perfection this sort of vintage chalet needs to be its own self, crooked corners, shabby paint finishes, weathered boards all adds to its charm. I love the butterfly bushes and lavender I planted last season have really established themselves. Some of the pots haven’t survived but the succulents are doing ok. My next little job is to finish off the two back borders but they have to be able to survive without constant watering so I need to choose wisely. I anticipate that the park will start to fill up from next week as schools across Europe start their summer break so I really need to get at least two or three days in, go to the beach, swim in the pool, sit at a beach cafe before the families descend. Don’t get me wrong I love the sound of children playing but just now I savour the peace and calm.
