Salt Dough Christmas Decorations
I volunteer with a local Church and one of the activities I enjoy is running workshops. Every year the Church holds a Christmas Fair, it is their biggest fund raiser of the year and we all come together to make Christmas decorations and cards to sell on the day. This year one of the workshops saw us making salt dough. This is super easy lots of recipes on line but basically it is plain flour, salt and water, roll it out and away you go.
Once the dough is nice and smooth it’s just a case of rolling it out, cutting shapes with seasonal cutters and popping a hole in the top using the end of a straw.
We got quite a production line going!
We also added brown food colouring to some of the dough to make gingerbread men decorations.
Once they’d been baked and cooled they were painted in acrylic paints and popped into cellophane bags to put on to the stall.
