Linen – embrace the wrinkle
I have four of these dresses in black (of course), dark grey (pictured), cream and a khaki and cream stripe. I live in them through the summer. They are loose but fit neatly around the neck and shoulders, they skim off your boobs, they are equally at home on the beach or out on the town.
I’ve been known to throw them over my cossie and wear my flip flops, my favourite brand are Rocket Dog Sunset and quelle surprise I have the same design in black, brown, cream and grey! Super, super, super comfy.
Out shopping or to lunch in a pair of pumps, my latest are Vans ‘The Authentic’ classic design but I have a really ancient pair of slip on pumps in a faded leopard print that I periodically buy new insoles for and spray liberally with trainer deodorant! Plus the obligatory hat (panama or army cap) and shades.
The great thing about neutrals is dressing up is really easy with a chunky necklace, this is one of my favourites a jointed copper fish bought from a small independent, cheap and cheerful big chunky earings, as are the holiday buy of rope soled flatform leopard print sandals, slightly more of an investment are my BoHo Barcelona round shades, I do have a bit of a thing for sunglasses.
You can find the dresses here at Texture
Everything else is either bought from high street retailers or independent shops in Leeds, London, Girona or Barcelona and online from Amazon as they do the best and most reliable delivery, apart from those leopard print sandals they came via an advert on Instagram and took a whopping 6 weeks and will probably only last five minutes, never again!
The only time these linen beauties see an iron is when they are fresh off the washing line, or after a long flight somewhere exotic, after that they get lovely crumples and soft creases taking you from dawn til dusk or dusk til dawn depending on which way you live your life.
Of course, you may well be a bright and cheerful or like a faded floral, other suppliers do the same design in lots of different patterns from polka dots to blousy roses and every colour under the sun. Search for Langenlook and you will findĀ a pattern or colour to suit.
