Family Time

After over two years of separation from our nearest and dearest, our younger son has been able to get out to see us. Happiest day of 2022 so far! We were chasing the sun and struck lucky in Palamos.

Chose a seafront restaurant with a big seafood menu and even managed to ditch our coats as the sun was so warm. Even for us locals it feels like holiday when you sit in the sun with a plate of crustaceans sprinkled with sea salt, garlic and oil just waiting to be eaten.


All sorts of prawns, regular, king, langoustines and cockles, mussels, razor clams and baby scallops. Messy eating at its best, no standing on ceremony, best eaten with fingers and cleaned with lemon after.

Cold smoked bacalla (salt cod), uncooked and thinly sliced drizzled with olive oil and tomato. Brie, nut and tomato salad with a honey vinagrette, Patatas bravas, Catalan bread rubbed with garlic, oil and tomato. A feast for the eyes and the palate.

Tuck in.

No lunch complete without a baked cheesecake with strawberry coulis and fresh strawberries, or in my case, lemon mousse, although must confess I did have a spoonful or two of the strawberry!
