Finding drawers for my drawers

When I was looking to furnish our new bedroom I was determined not to go down the fitted furniture look. Don’t get me wrong we have fitted wardrobes in our other bedrooms and they do the job just fine but I wanted to free up the space in the bedroom and consign the practical storage to the new dressing room. We are lucky to have some really good brocanters warehouses not far from us and we picked up this refurbed oak shop fitting which looks just perfect opposite the bed.

I’ve actually replaced the chair with another marvellous find will have to share that another time. The drawers are fantastic for storing your smalls in and all the other bits of things that seem to accumulate on surfaces and next to the bed. It was a close fit getting it through the door and round the corner of the archway but special awareness is my middle name even though the delivery men were not convinced.

The accessories are things we have brought with us. The pictures are from a little shop in Osmotherly in North Yorkshire, the ostrich egg from The Pier before it went bust, the busts from Country Baskets near Wakefield and the stacked boxes from a cheap homewares store. The lamp came from a muebles down the road. Its just sheer coincidence that we have a cat that matches the colour scheme that had nothing to do with me!
