With a coastline of over 10km, 4km of it soft sandy beach which slopes gently into the sea, there are naturally plenty of activities aside from building castles and sunbathing! The coastal town of L’Estartit offers everything that you would expect from a family friendly resort. The nearby town of Torroella has a historic centre and lots of lovely independent shops, cinema and theatre. The area is famed for its agriculture and national parks both inland and in the coastal waters.

The Medes Islands are just one of the natural parks in the area and scuba diving, snorkeling, boat trips including a glass bottomed boat are just some of the guided activities available and the area is of great importance as a National Park with the prestigious Jaques Cousteau centre being constructed on the old amusement park site, Jocs, the centre will bring marine biologists and other professionals working in the field to study and advise. Among the main objectives of this project is the reintroduction of endangered species and to host an Institute for Sea Studies to help train divers and workers in the sector. As expressed by its promoters, this project aims to turn l’Estartit into the capital of the sea in turn attracting more eco tourism. This will undoubtedly have an effect on demand for property. The first stage of the project is estimated to be completed July 2024 and second stage July 2025.
